Birthday Tardis...

Forgot to post this project on Sunday! :-)

I turned 40 on Sunday. So did my twin.

Well...we're not really twins, but we share the same birth date, we graduated from the same high school, we both wanted to attend UC Santa Barbara to become marine biologists (he actually did go to UCSB and has a degree in Aquatic Biology), we both love astronomy, Doctor Who...

Now we have matching Doctor Who tees. Here is the card I made him to go with his gift.

I worked on a special card for a friend of mine who shares the same birthdate as me and likes Doctor Who (just like me)! Here is a peek at what my workspace looked like while creating the card.

I think you can imagine the final result. ;-)

Happy Mother's Day

My sister made this beautiful card for our mom for Mother's Day.

My sister is also a mom.
Her 18-year-old son Christopher is a soldier.
Her daughter, Stephanie, just turned 21!

A Happy Mother's Day to my mom, my sister, and
to ALL the wonderful mothers out there! :-)

I hope you were all celebrated in the way you deserve today.

American Bike Month Layout...

This layout was done based on a sketch, for a challenge,
but I did not get to enter the challenge.
I couldn't figure out the entry requirements in time. ;-)
I think I'll be ready for the next challenge though!

The layout celebrates American Bike Month...
and Michael's weekly rides up Mt. Lemmon.
He rides up the mountain on each Saturday and Sunday
he is able to.
It's a 78 mile round trip from the house.

The layout is very simple. I had to use only Unity Stamps for the challenge.
They have some great stamps!
I am amassing quite a collection of them. LOL

Michael wanted to add the elevation detail from the ride
and drew it himself.

Mother's Day...

This should probably be my post for Sunday but I had to get both cards sent today...because they go to California.

I made the one with flowers for my mother-in-law and the other for my mom. Very different personalities. :-)

Perhaps on Sunday I will post the progress photos for both cards. I am happy with the way they both turned out, but was a bit short on time.

Happy creating!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

I thought today would be an appropriate day to start my scrapbooking blog! :-)
I had hoped to have a finished project to show you for my first post,
but I'm running slightly behind, so...

I'll show you my newly "refreshed" studio space (a.k.a. craft room) instead!

My part-time job at a gallery shop ended last month.
I salvaged some leftover items from the shop closing, a {new to me} desk and some storage pieces.
I got rid of an old desk that was falling apart and a table that I was using for my laptop.
The studio space is so much more organized and neat NOW!
These are just AFTER photos.
The BEFORE photos were just too much of a disaster. ;-)

Not sure why the last photo came out so tiny. ;-)
I also had to put my pink chair in a different room, as it wouldn't work with the
new configuration.

Of course, the studio is not quite so neat right now as I'm in the middle of several projects:
a scrapbook layout for a challenge,
checking in some consignment jewelry to sell online,
and working on some custom doll jewelry!

Thanks again for visiting!

Happy crafting!
