Stamp Play: THE TON stamps

Hi everyone!

So, I am probably going to be talking a lot about Periscope on my blog. LOL
It is my new addiction, and there are so many amazing crafty/creative/artistic people on there to follow and watch. Also there are lots of companies (larger and smaller), that give sneaks of products and offer tutorials or behind the scenes.

I have only done two Periscope broadcasts myself, but hope to do more soon.
You can find me on the Periscope app with @kismet1990 or
watch from the computer at

Periscope has been around since April 2015, but I only discovered it in early August. I signed up using my main Twitter account, but I guess early on users could sign up with their phone numbers, so there could be a lot of numerical user names. There can also sometimes be unwelcome comments from people who are 'trolling' broadcasts (which is why it is generally a good idea to turn off your location unless you want people to know where you are for a particular broadcast) via the map feature.

One of the companies that is on Periscope is @thetonstamps (The Ton website), so I am going to showcase a couple of projects I have done with the stamp sets I purchased as a result of one of their Periscope broadcasts.

The above and below photo feature the Holiday Bows stamp set (which also comes with a matching die set, and I think both are being restocked).

I only got the stamp set so had to fussy cut, but that was not as challenging for me as layering, although the set comes with a great layering guide. I was just having trouble seeing well (ahem, I need my bifocals increased LOL) when I tried to get close enough to line up the shadow stamp.

I don't think this card really needed a sentiment because it could be used for any occasion when one might give a gift and want a matching card.

I decided to use the Congrats sentiment from the other stamp set I purchased, called Panda Can't Even.

Apparently I did not take a photo of the stamp sets when they arrived, so will have to take a photo of the Panda Can't Even set and add in later.

Here is a project I did with one of the *7* adorable pandas featured in the set. Yes, seven! Along with seven sentiments, hearts, and stars. A really versatile set.

I'll try to do more posts featuring craft supply companies that have a presence on Periscope, but I am also trying to increase my crafty posts overall so I can feel more comfortable entering challenges. I don't have a lot of consistency across my blogs, social media, or shops, and am trying to develop that. I like to try lots of different things, and yet, also have a hard time keeping up with trends, so go figure. LOL Going my own way was great when papercrafting was a stress reliever while going to school, but now I want to find cohesiveness in my art, crafting, and online presence.

Thanks so much!

MarionSmithDesigns monthly planner pages. A5 size.

I admit to not being very organized.
Strange to say, because I attempt to organize and reorganize my spaces all the time.
I've used planners for years, but they weren't very decorative or pretty.
Mostly plain, but functional.

I had the best luck with planners when I was taking online classes, and during the remodel last year.
Mostly though, I was keeping track of things, not really organizing my life.
There was a time when I never forgot a birthday, no matter what. Rolodex address cards worked great for that! Now, I can just post a greeting to someone on their social media. Yet, I still enjoy creating cards.

Anyway, back to planners. I am going to try the A5 size again. I had this size over a decade ago, and found the planner to be too large for my needs. However, I am now wondering if I could consolidate my notebooks and personal planner into one large planner. This is my attempt at a start.

I ordered the MSD Heart of Gold planner last Monday, but expected a delay in shipping because the company was fulfilling planner reorder requests first. I admit to being a bit anxious, but still patient, plus I have these pages that I ordered earlier this month to play around with.

What is your favorite planner? Or method of planning?

Pink Bow Ties: Pink Friday: Fireman Marc

Hello everyone!

Today is Pink Friday featuring the Pink Bow Ties clear set

I colored this image up in two uniform color variations, but I also think this stamp would be cute to have children color for using on cards, and even making magnets or other gifts for that special fireman!

The set has great sentiments to go along with the image for birthday, fathers, and just because.

Pink Bow Ties: Digital Wednesday: Graduate

Hello everyone!

I am back with another Digital Wednesday with Pink Bow Ties.

It is that time of year again  - GRADUATION! Woo hoo and congrats to all the new grads,
and to those "graduating" onto a higher grade/class/different school.

The digital stamp is called Graduate, but Lameka offers three different versions in the shop.
The images fit well for high school and college graduates.

Here is the card I made using one of those versions

I used my Silhouette Cameo to make the cloud and had to use Thickers because the Dream Big cutout kept getting messed up. I think the Thickers added some nice dimension though.

I also handmade a tassel to match the colored tassel on the image. I am not the best colorist, but I enjoyed this large image. The hair took about 12 layers though. I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, but am
soon going to start using Copics as well.

Thanks for visiting!

Pink Bow Ties: Pink Friday: My Princess

Hello everyone!

Back with Pink Bow Ties: Pink Friday using the clear stamp set My Princess

Normally I would attempt to color the image from the stamp set with alcohol markers,
but I decided to do a project that might appeal to the non-colorists out there.
I used my heat gun to emboss the sentiment, and my Silhouette Cameo for the crowns.
I started with the gift box and thought I'd put the sentiment onto the box,
but then I thought a matching card would be nice, and the gift box could be kept simple.

It is always fun to see what creative ideas the sentiments from a stamp set inspire beyond the
image that might be included.

This is a perfect project for Father's Day,
but could also be used on a card from a bride to her father.

Pink Bow Ties: Digital Wednesday: A Mother's Love

Hello everyone!

Today's Pink Bow Ties Digital Wednesday featured stamp is 'A Mother's Love'.

This stamp is so sweet and I love the look on the daughter's faces. They remind me of many sisters I've seen. I can imagine my own sister and I looking this way as our confident mom walked with us.

My best friend has two daughters and even though they are older now than the girls in the image appear, it was the perfect image to put on a Mother's Day card for her.

I also had the idea to make a mini album with this image on the cover, but haven't quite finished putting it together. I had a good coloring session though and it might be my favorite image I've colored yet.

Besides a card, or mini album, what kind of project would YOU use this image for?

Mother's Day with Vssweetideas

It will be Mother's Day in two weeks, and I have no idea what I am getting my mom for the holiday,
BUT, I do have a card made. ;-)

I'm a little late with this post, but hopefully you still have time to get this stamp set from
Vssweetideas for your Mother's Day crafting.

It is called Super Mom.

I have to send my card and gift to California, so I was sure to get the set early!

Here are the three cards I made. I used every one of the stamps in this set,
which may be the first in a long time.

I adore this set!

I also used papers from my stash and dies from Studio Calico, and Pretty Pink Posh.

The last two photos aren't the best, but I haven't had time to stage the cards, so these are ones that I took on my workspace the night I made the last two cards.

Thanks for visiting!

Pink Bow Ties: Pink Friday: Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my blog.

Last week I introduced Digital Wednesday featuring a Pink Bow Ties digital stamp design,
and today I am introducing Pink Fridays!

On Pink Fridays, one of the Pink Bow Ties Design Team members posts a project using a
photopolymer stamp set by Lameka.

The stamp set I am using for this Pink Fridays selection is Birthday Wishes!

I made two projects with this fun set, one masculine and one in pink.

I love stars, and I used Ranger Enchanted Gold embossing powder to make the stars shine for a fun background on this pink card. Love the sparkle!

Thank you for viewing my projects!

Pink Bow Ties: Digital Wednesday: Ashanti

Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and this post featuring my very first projects
as a Design Team member for Pink Bow Ties

The two projects showcased below feature the Pink Bow Ties digital stamp, La Belle: Ashanti.
Such a beautiful name! You can purchase Ashanti here

Don't forget to use coupon code 'pinkchairstudio10' to get 10% off your purchase of non-digital stamps in the Pink Bow Ties shop

From now until April 10, you will receive a random free image when you register
on the Pink Bow Ties website, where you can learn more about Lameka, the owner of Pink Bow Ties, and connect with other Pink Bow Ties fans!

Also visit the Pink Bow Ties Facebook page to see information about new stamp releases, coming to the website soon.

I decided to use Ashanti on a 12x12 inspirational layout that can go in an album
or hang on a wall!

I colored the image using Spectrum Noir markers and added some glitter accent to her belt, shoes, and flowers. I think we should all Be Fabulous like Ashanti! I love her confidence.

The typewriter is also from a Pink Bow Ties photopolymer (clear) stamp set, called My Type
and it is on sale right now! Grab it before it is sold out. ;-)

The paper with typed 'hello' is by from a Studio Calico kit, and the kraft cards with pink foil accents are from Me and My Big Ideas (MAMBI).

An element I love about digital stamps, over physical stamps, is the ability to
resize the image to suit your project.

Here is card I added an Ashanti image to, again coloring her with Spectrum Noir markers.

On Friday, fellow Pink Bow Ties Design Team member Bev Code
will be posting projects using the photopolymer (clear) stamp set Soulful Sunday.
Please visit her blog to view those projects!

Egg-tastic Easter!

Hi everyone!

I'm a couple of weeks early for Easter, but I'm usually late with holiday cards, so I'm going to post this one anyway. LOL

I ordered the 'Fit Planning' set from V's Sweet Ideas and couldn't resist picking up this 'Easter Fun' set as well. Both sets are available for $8.99 each.

My husband and I don't usually do anything special for Easter at our house, but Easter egg hunts were one of my favorite things when I was a child. My mom always made lots of hard-boiled eggs for us to color & decorate, and for her to hide. We always got dressed up for Easter Sunday, but by the time the egg hunt came around, we were usually in comfy clothes. Generally we lived in places where the weather was gorgeous for Easter, and there were always a lot of eggs hidden in tall grass. I enjoyed eating the eggs after the hunt was done. As I got a little older, there were eventually plastic eggs filled with treats.

Here is the card I made with 'Easter Fun':

The paper is the Wanderlust 6x6 from Studio Calico. I stamped the eggs with Studio Calico Color Theory Inks, and used a Letraset Promarker for some light grey shading to give the eggs some dimension. The basket weaving look is created with Spectrum Noir markers.

I love the faces on this stamp set! Even though I didn't use them on this first card, there are so many cute options for adding them to the eggs or basket. Next time!

Let me know if you do Easter egg hunts at your house!
Do you use hard-boiled eggs, or filled plastic eggs with treats?

Happy Creating!
